About LionPlants
What is LionPlants and how does it work?
LionPlants is a wholesale plant supplier for professionals. We do not have a single nursery: we coordinate a network of specialized nurseries spread across different regions of Spain, each strong in certain species, formats, or climates. When we receive a request, we check the actual availability within this network, manually select the specimens that best fit the project, and organize the transport ourselves to the destination. The client deals with a single team from start to finish, even though several nurseries are involved behind the scenes.
Do you work with individuals or just with professionals?
We work exclusively in B2B: garden centers, landscapers, construction companies, developers, city councils, other nurseries, and architectural firms. There's no need to create an account or wait for activation: simply fill out the form for the category that interests you (or the Auctions and Large Projects form) with your company's information and what you need, and we will respond directly with availability and pricing. We do not work with retail sales conditions or single-unit orders from individuals.
I already have a regular supplier; what changes with LionPlants?
The main difference is centralization: instead of contacting and negotiating separately with several nurseries, and coordinating the transport from each one yourself, you have a single point of contact who manages the selection, pricing, and shipping of the entire order. This reduces management time and, by combining species from different nurseries into a single load, it usually also reduces the per-unit transport cost compared to ordering each batch separately.
Are you direct producers or intermediaries?
We don't grow the plants ourselves: we coordinate a network of trusted nurseries, each specializing in different families (conifers, hedging shrubs, olive trees and unique specimens, niwaki, Mediterranean plants, fruit trees...). This allows us to offer a much broader catalog with greater real availability than a single nursery would have, without sacrificing quality control: every specimen undergoes a review before being confirmed for an order, regardless of which nursery in the network it comes from.
Catalog and availability
Are the prices competitive compared to buying directly from a nursery?
Yes, and for a specific reason: by pooling volume from multiple projects and clients across the same nursery network, we secure purchasing terms that a single order typically couldn't reach, and we pass that directly through to our professional catalog pricing. On top of that, combining the transport of different species into a single shipment—rather than sending several partially loaded trucks—saves further costs. Added to this are the agreements we maintain with nurseries and growers across Spain, which let us offer highly competitive prices without passing that cost on to our customers: our philosophy is to offer top-quality plants without driving up the cost of your project.
What kind of plants can I find in the catalog?
The catalog covers alignment trees and singular specimens (including century-old and millennial olive trees), shrubs and conifers for hedges and fencing, drought-resistant Mediterranean plants, niwakis and sculptural pieces of Japanese inspiration, ornamental and productive fruit trees, and climbers for vertical enclosures. Specific availability (sizes, container formats, caliper) varies depending on the season and actual nursery stock, which is why each request is confirmed with current availability, not with a static catalog.
What is the minimum order?
We prefer to work with full truckloads, as this is where the transportation cost per plant is lowest. For smaller volume projects, we offer half trucks or consolidated loads, combining your order with other shipments going to the same area or combining several species from the same project in a single vehicle.
Can I combine several plant types in the same shipment?
Yes, it is a common and advisable practice: combining different species and formats, for example, conifer hedging with tree specimens and some ornamental shrubs, in the same load allows for better use of the vehicle and simplifies your management, as you receive everything in a single delivery and on one delivery note.
Shipping & Logistics
Do you arrange the transportation yourselves?
Yes, from start to finish. We coordinate land and sea transport with vehicles adapted to each type of load, from platforms for tall specimens to standard palletized goods, and we prepare all necessary documentation: phytosanitary passport, delivery notes, and, for exports, commercial invoice and certificate of origin. The goal is for the plant to arrive in good condition and for the documentation not to become a problem at the destination, especially for international shipments where incorrect paperwork can hold up the shipment at customs.
How long does an order take to arrive?
It depends on the origin, destination, and type of shipment. As a general reference: shipments within the Iberian Peninsula are usually completed within a few days of order confirmation; road shipments to other parts of Europe typically take between one and two weeks; and international maritime exports have lead times of 25 to 45 days, plus possible transshipments depending on the route. In any case, the specific delivery time for your order is confirmed in the offer itself, it is not a generic estimate.
How do larger specimens travel?
Each operation involving large specimens (large trees, centennial olive trees, sculptural pieces) is studied individually before loading: height, canopy and trunk diameter, root ball size, and travel distance are considered to decide whether a flatbed, lowboy, or curtainside trailer is most suitable, and how to secure the load so that it does not move or suffer abrasions during the journey.
Can I track the shipment?
Yes. We will confirm the loading date and estimated delivery time before the order ships, and we will notify you if there are any issues en route (delays due to weather, customs, etc.). For large orders or projects with critical delivery dates, we coordinate directly with the person responsible at the destination to arrange the exact time of unloading.
Orders and conditions
How do I start an order or request a quote?
The quickest way is to fill out the application form available in the category you are interested in (shrubs, conifers, trees...), indicating what you need, approximate quantities, and deadline. If your project is large-scale, a public auction, or does not fit into a single category, use the form on the Auctions and Large Projects page, where you can attach lists, measurements, or technical specifications. In both cases, we respond with actual availability and price, not a generic estimate.
What are the payment terms?
For the first order with a new client, we usually request payment in advance, as is customary in the industry when initiating a commercial relationship. Subsequently, and depending on the purchase volume and the client's history, we assess 30 or 45-day payment terms, always subject to a prior credit assessment.
Do the plants come with any certification?
All shipments that require it by regulation include the EU plant passport and the corresponding documentation of origin, for both national and export journeys. In addition, each specimen undergoes an internal validation before leaving the nursery (phytosanitary status, vigor, and traceability) to ensure that what is invoiced is exactly what arrives.
Can you manage large volume projects or public auctions?
Yes, it's an important part of our work. We manage the complete cycle: selection of specimens according to the technical specifications, quality control, delivery logistics within the required timeframe, and all the documentation typically required by a public administration or a large-scale project. Consult the Auctions and Large Projects page to find the specific form and attach the documentation for your auction or project.
